Knut Stockhusen

Personal Profile

Knut Stockhusen studied civil engineering at the University of Stuttgart and started working as an engineer in our Stuttgart office in 2000. In 2008, he founded sbp Latin America in São Paulo, one of the office’s seven international branches. Since 2015, he has been a partner at schlaich bergermann partner and has also been managing director of the sbp office in Spain since 2020.

Today, Knut Stockhusen develops and plans versatile and complex projects worldwide. He and his team are among the leading experts in the field of special and lightweight construction, with a focus on stadium roofs and facades, sports and multi-purpose venues, moveable structures, and particularly long-span structures. He has received numerous awards for his work at the national and international level, such as for the Arena da Amazônia and the Maracanã stadium in Brazil and the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Spain.

He frequently lectures at universities and conferences, particularly on the subject of moveable structures.
