After winning the competition of the expansion of the AUDI industrial complex at Neckarsulm, schlaich bergermann und partner together with the architect Beucker Maschlanka und Partner were commissioned with all design phases of the three buildings. The sales and exhibition building is covered by an impressing double curved wide span roof. The building has inclined glass facades. Central to the roof structure, a large central elliptic glazed down light area is located. It is suspended by stainless steel cables. The slabs and beams of the concrete structure span 10 × 10 m. The 5-storey Car-Park-Building is a optimised steel-concrete composite structure partly made out of precast-elements. Long ramps to the storeys are suspended from the roof. The Workshop-Building, an industrial-like long steel structure, has its service rooms in top.
