The Ripshorst bridge is a welded steel structure. The deck is supported by an arch-tube which spans about 78 m over the Rhein-Herne-Channel.
According to the bended deck the arch is not only curved in elevation, but also double-curved in plan, in order to the different directions of the struts.
The tubes are connected with steel castings.
Total length: 130 m
Width of deck: 3 m
Thickness of deck: 30 cm
Arch diameter: 370 – 550 mm
Strut diameter: 80 – 220 mm
Rolled steel: 120 t
Castings: 36 t
