For a connecting structure between two bath houses at the “Therme” in Badenweiler an all glass structure was developed and built. The glass house consists of 2.3 m long vertical glass columns and 6 m long horizontal glass bars supporting the vertical and horizontal loads of the facade. The roof structure is supported by 6 m long glass beams that are formed according to the bending moment and are suspended by a steel cable within a gap in the laminated glass. The glass structure and all details were worked out differently to include the new structure within the ambiance.
