The two pools at the new swimming complex in Valencia are to be spanned by grid shells. The covering of the grid shell is achieved by a double-shelled roof construction. This consists of two layers of PTFE fibreglass membrane, with a layer of transparent thermal insulation in the space between. Every second arch of the primary construction is elevated. Valley cables run between these arches, giving the outer membrane (PTFE glass) its folded appearance. Areas of the smaller roof are glazed; the larger roof over the swimming pool is bordered by a circumferential vertical glass facade.
