Our newly built Fehrlesteg in Schwäbisch Gmünd, a future element of the Landesgartenschau 2014, was inaugurated on April 1st. The foot bridge, which serves as a direct link between the train station and the inner city, has been designed as a stress ribbon bridge with spans of 19 and 27 m. In plan, the bridge has a central kink directly above where the bridge crosses the forked river Rems. The walkway surfacing of natural stone and the soft lighting integrated into the stainless steel handrail shape the appearance of the bridge, which blends elegantly into the surrounding area with its restrained design.
