The Footbridge Awards 2011 were presented this month in Wroclaw, Poland, at this year’s Footbridge Conference. Mike Schlaich, Andreas Keil and Sebastian Linden have been speakers there and three of our pedestrian bridges received awards: The bridge over the Rhine-Herne Canal in Gelsenkirchen won the prize in the section Aesthetics Long-Span and Technical Long-Span, the Glass Bridge Lisbon and the Passerelle à La Défense in Paris were mentioned laudable in the categories of Aesthetics Short-Span and Technical Short-Span bzw. Technical Long-Span.
