The railway bridge Grubentalbrücke in the Thrungian Forest is nearing completion – last week the bow was closed. The semi-integral bridge is part of the new ICE railway track of Deutsche Bahn. It is one of the first bridges in this very robust design and is very low maintenance. When planning the bridge, all influences from the various construction stages had to be considered. Therefore, the design and the construction design were made in close coordination with the executive company Züblin. The twin-track bridge consists of an eight-span beam and is 215 m long.
