The Velodrome for the 2012 Olympic Games won the ‘Supreme Award for Structural Engineering Excellence’. The prestigious prize is awarded annually by the ‘Institution of Structural Engineers’. The jury commented: “The judges all agreed that the London 2012 Velodrome is a project worthy of winning the Supreme Award. As with so many Supreme Award winners before it, there is a sense of ‘rightness’ to this building that is a rare but undeniable quality. […] It demonstrates outstanding creativity and uniqueness in its combination of the art and science of engineering.” We are proud to have contributed to this achivement by developing a double-curved cable net roof structure that is supported by the seating bowl. Congratulations to all involved.
