Suspension Bridge Gießen – check engineering

© schlaich bergermann partner

The structure of the cycle and pedestrian bridge is a back-anchored suspension bridge with elevated ramps on both sides. The A-pylons are round steel tubes and are slightly inclined towards the bridge centre. The suspension cables are locked coil strands and are connected to the A-pylons by clevises. The bridge deck (concrete deck) is designed as a composite structure.
