The power station AndaSol II is located in the immediate neighbourhood of AndaSol I and is almost identical in construction. It has a rated output of 50 MW and can be operated for six hours out of a thermal storage during periods without sunlight. In 2011, after two years of construction, the third power station AndaSol III will be completed. The power station will produce approximately 179 GWh annually, providing up to 200,000 people with electricity. The collector field of one power plant covers an area of 1,500 × 1,300 meters. The 7,488 single collectors used in the new cost effective design have a total collector area of 520,000 m². The collectors are composed of a steel framework construction with attached curved glass mirrors.
