Scope of our work
Conceptual design, analysis, detailed design, site supervision including structural, mechanical and electrical engineering
In the project DISTAL I three dish/Stirling-systems were built on the Spanish-German solar test center Plataforma Solar de Almería. The concentrators were constructed using metal membrane technology and hinged along the polar axis. They were equipped with an improved version of the Stirling motor and the first simple semi-automatic system control was developed. The units were used up until 2000 for demonstration
and testing purposes and operated for more than 20,000 hours.
Concentrator diameter: 7.5 m
Reflecting area: 44 m²
Average concentration factor: 3000
Suspension: polar
Control system: semi automatic
Remote control: none
Stirling engine: SOLO V 160
Type: 2 cylinder 90°V, single acting
Working gas: Helium
