CANCELLATION OF THE GUIDED TOURS: Day of Architecture and Engineering in Hamburg: Pedestrian and cyclist bridge Entenwerder

**UPDATE – CANCELLATION OF THE GUIDED TOURS: Due to the forecasted high temperatures, the guided tours of the new Entenwerder pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Oberhafen Canal on Saturday, 27 June must unfortunately be cancelled. We expect to offer the tours next year as part of the “Day of Architecture and Engineering” and will share updated information in due course.**

Join us on Saturday, 27 June at the “Day of Architecture and Engineering” in Hamburg for an exclusive insight into the new Entenwerder pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Oberhafen Canal. Guided tours on site by schlaich bergermann partner, our project partner gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner and our client Billebogen Entwicklungsgesellschaft will be offered at 1:00 pm, 2:15 pm and 3:30 pm.
Please register here.

The bridge will soon rank among the largest pedestrian and cycle bridges in the city, connecting Rothenburgsort and HafenCity, closing a key gap in the Elbe cycle route and restoring a direct walking connection from southern Rothenburgsort to the U- and S-Bahn for the first time since 1943.

Designed as a slender, one hundred and thirty-five metre long and 6.5 metre wide steel box girder with a gently curved alignment, the bridge combines structural efficiency with architectural clarity. Its monolithic, low-maintenance construction, high degree of prefabrication and robust foundation on piles ensure durability and resilience, while integrated LED handrails and accessible detailing provide a safe and intuitive route for all users.

We look forward to welcoming you on site and sharing more about the design and engineering behind this new landmark bridge.
