The construction of the new Hall 2 for the Exhibition Center in Bordeaux-Lac, France, is about to be completed. In collaboration with Luc Arsène-Henry / Alain Triaud Architectes and Brochet Layus Pueyo, schlaich bergermann partner won the 2016 competition to design the hall for the exhibition center, which is one of the most important ones in France.
The newly erected 108 m long exhibition hall will also be used to host congresses and concerts. Above the main entrance of the 70 m wide building, the 22 m long cantilever roof has already been installed. The generous canopy of steel trusses covers the building’s reception hall and parts of the fourcourt, creating an appealing entrance for visitors. Adjacent to the hall, the two-storey buildings for conference rooms and a restaurant have been erected.
Hall 2 will be finished on schedule, and right in time to host the "Vinexpo", one of the largest international wine and spirits exhibitions, in May. Its construction has been part of extensive renovation measures at the French exhibition center.
