First parabolic trough power plant in China connected to the grid
sbp 06.07.2018

The first major commercial CSP project in China, the 50 MW parabolic trough power plant Delingha, was successfully commissioned on June 30. This makes China the eighth country in the world where such a power plant is located. The project is therefore not only a decisive milestone for the project owner and developer CGN (Guangdong Nuclear Power), but also an important impulse for the Chinese and international CSP industry.

For the solar thermal power plant, which consists of a total of 190 loops or 9,120 single trough collector elements, sbp sonne EuroTrough technology was used. Therefore, sbp sonne has been on site again and again during the past months to provide engineering support for the production and installation of the collector field. Our design was adapted to the Chinese standards in advance. Furthermore, the construction of the collectors was adapted to the special project conditions such as local wind loads, installation on inclined ground and extremely low temperatures.

We congratulate all participants on the successful completion of the project. Further information can be found here.
