schlaich bergermann partner is very proud to have collaborated with Zaha Hadid Architects in the design of the Forest Green Rovers Stadium, the first of its kind to be ever built. The Club has recently announced the winner of the design competition following a seven month long international competition. The stadium is at the heart and is the centre piece of the Eco Park development, a landscaping project that will introduce new facilities to the town and bring fans and the community together.
The Forest Green Rovers Stadium will be the greenest football stadium in the world, and entirely built of wood and other environmentally friendly materials. The cantilevered roof and the upper part of the façade is foreseen to be covered by a transparent membrane-cladding that facilitates turf growth and visually minimises the volume of the stadium from a distance.
We are delighted to be part of the team and very much look forward to building it. For more information about the project, please visit Zaha Hadid Architect’s website.
