Punctually on Saturday noon at 12 o'clock the lifting of our new bridge in Ditzingen took place. The impressive pedestrian bridge will connect two areas of the company Trumpf, which were previously divided by a country road.
A heavy-duty crane carefully lifted the 28 metre long bridge from the car park into its final position. This process may have reminded people passing by about the landing of a futuristic spaceship.
The bridge was previously welded together on site from several individual parts. The striking, lasered-in hole structure continues its pattern in the walking area with small bores. The 14,300 small holes were filled with glass for safer crossing.
After the successful lifting, the bridge was removed from the crane and the installation of the transparent glass railing started. It will take only a few more weeks until the first employees will officially cross the bridge.
