Josef-Schwarz-School nominated for the German Sustainability Award for Architecture 2026

The Josef-Schwarz-School in Heilbronn is one of nine projects nominated for the German Sustainability Award for Architecture 2026. We are delighted that the project has been shortlisted for this prestigious award.

The jury on the nomination:

“The Josef Schwarz School in Heilbronn is an exemplary demonstration of how sustainable educational architecture can combine environmental, social and economic responsibility with outstanding design. Located in the Neckarbogen model district, it offers a forward-looking response to the challenges of dense urban sites: by consistently stacking functions, the design creates generous, high-quality spaces for learning and recreation within a limited footprint. In this way, valuable urban space is used efficiently without compromising on open space, user experience or educational quality.”

We are delighted by the nomination and congratulate everyone involved in the project on this recognition.
