Her lecture reveals the sophisticated structural solutions behind large-scale art installations, using L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped as a key example. For this temporary work in Paris by Christo and Jeanne Claude, sbp developed a structural concept that secured the silvery blue recyclable polypropylene fabric and red ropes against wind loads using a substructure of steel trusses combined with a ring of pre-stressed steel cables.
