On June 5, 2025, the Bundesingenieurkammer (German Federal Chamber of Engineers) and the Verband Beratender Ingenieure (German Association of Consulting Engineers) will host the first Engineering Summit at the EUREF-Gasometer in Berlin. Board member Mike Schlaich will participate in a panel discussion on infrastructure.
Looking ahead, it is clear that significant changes are underway in the areas of mobility, energy and utilities that require new approaches. Mike Schlaich, together with other experts on the panel, including Dr. Katja Hüske (DB InfraGO), Dirk Brandenburger (Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes), Dr. Matthias Jacob (Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie) and Jens Tartler (Tagesspiegel Background – Verkehr & Smart Mobility), will discuss how a more sustainable infrastructure should be set up to develop better solutions for the future.
The focus is on modernizing existing infrastructure, integrating digital technologies, and ensuring the financial viability of these initiatives.
The aim is to establish networks that meet environmental, economic and social requirements in the long term and thus contribute to sustainable development.
