We are delighted to have won the competition for a mobility pavilion at the S-Bahn station in Sindelfingen together with Birk Heilmeyer and Frenzel Architects. A total of five teams were invited to the competition.
Finally, the jury was convinced by the design of a modular wooden umbrella construction, which intends to structure the station forecourt as a waiting area for passengers and as a storage for bicycles. The special feature of the structure is that a single module can be installed separately at different locations and in different sizes. This enables a similar design for the mobility concept of the city of Sindelfingen.
The jury emphasized the light structure of the umbrellas consisting of a wooden support with four cantilevers and a light transparent roof.
