Last week, a big step was taken in Schönbuch to complete the look-out tower: The segments of the tower that had previously been assembled on the ground were lifted onto each other with a crane. For safety reasons, the Big Lift took place excluding the public, here are some cinematic impressions of the lift.
An end preload of 16t was applied to each of the cables, so that the tower is now free standing. Until 9 June, the official opening of the tower, there is now enough time to install the missing cable net railings. On this day it is also possible to visit the time capsule, which has been anchored from the uppermost platform. Among other things, it also contains our construction plans and the various feasibility studies for the tower.
Further information on the opening can be found here.
