The 100 MW Parabolic Trough Power Plant in Urat, Inner Mongolia, is already the second Solar power plant to be built in China with the EuroTrough collector technology from schlaich bergermann partner. With a power capacity of 100 MW, it will be the largest ever-built EuroTrough collector field.
Right before the start of the Chinese New Year, the first collectors were successfully installed on site. The assembly and installation of the almost 17.000 collectors is expected to last at least until the end of summer. The plant is situated in Inner Mongolia, northern China. Covering a 2,6 km long and 1,9 km wide area, the collector field consists of 352 loops, which equals the almost 17.000 solar collector elements (SCEs).
sbp sonne provided the collector technology and adapted it to the specific site conditions. The steel mass of the collector was further optimized to enable an economic design despite very high wind loads in this area. sbp sonne will stay involved and provide engineering supervision on site until the successful completion of the project.
