schlaich bergermann partner will work with Christo on the wrapping of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It will already be the second time that we support the artist in the realization of his art.
After the successful collaboration on the sculpture “The London Mastaba“, floating on London’s Serpentine Lake, our next project together will be in the French capital: Alongside an exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, looking back at the early years of Christo und Jeanne-Claude in Paris, Christo is planning to wrap the city’s world-famous Arc de Triomphe, as was the Reichstag in 1995 in Berlin. The wrapping of the almost 50-metre-high French landmark is set to take place in autumn 2021 and last for a period of two weeks.
In this spectacular project, schlaich bergermann partner will develop a suitable structure to which the wrapping will be attached. This will ensure that the fabric can be placed without a loss of shape. While preparations have already begun, we are excited to work once again with Christo and support his artistic work in this extraordinary project in Paris.
