The Hubert Sohler Bridge was constructed as a replacement for a pedestrian footbridge as part of the State Garden Show, and was modernized and adapted for bicycle traffic. The superstructure consists of a straight steel box girder with a slightly curved gradient and is integrally connected to the abutments. A central axial hinge was also provided.
The massive reinforced‑concrete abutments include an integrated maintenance access and are embedded into steep embankments. Due to the integral design, special measures were required during the erection of the steel structure to accurately establish the geometry.
