The multifunctional concert and congress center “Munich Arena” will be a modern concert and event arena for up to 20,000 visitors at Munich Airport. Key features of the arena include the exoskeleton, which supports the surrounding cable net façade and a TGA floor, the wood-steel hybrid roof beams with a span of over 100 meters with an integrated rigging level, and the efficient tiered seating structure with seats and box balconies. The high architectural and event technology requirements necessitate optimal integration of the support structure to achieve efficient spatial and structural flexibility. In addition to the arena, a hotel and a parking garage are part of the overall project. In line with the sustainability certification of the overall project, material efficiency, modularity, the use of renewable raw materials, and an accompanying life cycle analysis are of great importance in the structural design.
