Nanchang East Railway Station

The train station, with a total of eight platforms and sixteen tracks, is part of a new TOD (Transport Oriented Development) area in the east of Nanchang, in the vicinity of which office space, apartments and space for trade and culture will be developed.
A special feature is the three-nave arched supporting structure designed by sbp and gmp. The roof structure consists of 14 rows of triple steel arch elements. The repetitive segments create a harmonious appearance that continues inside the building in the form of light openings in the rhythm of the arch structure. A central arch with a column-free span of 96 meters transforms the waiting hall into a representative stay area.
The construction time for the roof structure was significantly reduced by prefabricating the individual arch trusses on site and then assembling them using a crane runway.
Thanks to its convenient location and connections, the station marks a new, important transportation hub in the eastern part of the city.
