The high-rise complex is arranged clockwise like a windmill, creating an outer ring of seven higher buildings and an inner ring of three lower buildings. schlaich bergermann partner was commissioned with the planning of the cable net facades for the so-called sky lobbies of six high-rise buildings.
The lobbies of the outer buildings were given a cable net facade. Vertical and horizontal cables carry the glass facade. At the same time, it is stabilised by the deformation resistance of the prestressed cable net. The dead weight of the glass elements is distributed to the vertical cables via clamps and absorbed by a transfer structure in the main building above. The deflection due to wind and seismic loads is limited by the prestressing of the horizontal cables.
The sky lobbies of the interior buildings each have winter gardens with panorama windows. The structural design is based on a steel frame superstructure with vertical and horizontal girders, which are rigidly connected to each other. A small cable net stretches between the individual frame sections to accommodate the correspondingly smaller glass panels.
While the facade design of the outer buildings is based on natural shading, the inner high-rise buildings are equipped with individually operated and variable solar shading for energy-saving and environmentally friendly office lighting.
