Pavillon Experimenta

©

To expand the exhibition space, a temporary pavilion dedicated to the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been created on the forecourt of Experimenta. The construction was to be erected close to the riverbank, between the trees at the edge of the Experimenta forecourt, and raised on slender piles to emphasize its temporary character.
At the end of the limited period of use, the pavilion should be able to be fully dismantled and reassembled at another location. The focus is on sustainability and mobility, which is why timber was chosen as the material. The flat components (ceiling, floor and walls) were made from flat and curved CLT elements, each with a corresponding transport size (width < 3 m). The joining technique, with halving and tenon joints, is predominantly carpentry-style to ensure easy assembly and disassembly. The façade facing the square of the Experimenta is filled with translucent polycarbonate panels between the timber supports.
