Embedded in a green area on the southern outskirts of Vöhringen, the new multi-purpose hall presents itself as a clearly structured, simple building. Clever use of the topography made it possible to integrate the functional wing with changing rooms and sanitary facilities underground into the site.
The room program includes a foyer, a club room, a gymnastics room, a changing room wing, the hall and
the grandstand, which was designed for 200 people.
The interior is characterized by exposed concrete surfaces that contrast with a steel structure with a natural wooden ribbed ceiling.
The new building is planned as a reinforced concrete structure with a steel hall support structure.
The roof above the hall area is supported by standard steel girder profiles. The beams are arranged at intervals of approx. 4.90 m and spanned by timber ribbed slab elements with an integrated acoustic level.
The roof structure of the sports hall consists of a steel and timber construction. The stage areas arranged in E+1 next to the sports hall, as well as the foyer/technical area with the gymnastics room, are designed as solid reinforced concrete structures consisting of reinforced concrete walls and reinforced concrete ceilings. The hall opens up to the valley to the north via a generous post-and-beam façade. The hall roof is extensively greened.
