Mühlensteg footbridge lifted into place

This week, the “Mühlensteg” footbridge, a one-sided suspension bridge with inclined hangers, was lifted into place in the Southern German town of Besigheim, 25 km north of Stuttgart.

The bridge designed by schlaich bergermann partner will provide a new connection for pedestrians and especially cyclists, bringing the long-distance cycling route “Enztalradweg” across the river Enz. During the installation, schlaich bergermann partner was on site to supervise and support the process.

We are delighted to see the 70 m long bridge deck successfully installed and look forward to the opening of the “Mühlensteg” footbridge scheduled for autumn.
