In Sindelfingen, a 7 m wide bridge will connect two Daimler AG sites. Due to those construction works the Rudolf-Diesel-Straße had to be closed at the beginning of September. The 34 m long and 120 t heavy steel walkway of the elegant suspension structure was delivered in four individual parts with special transports, assembled together on site and lifted into its final position by heavy-duty mobile cranes.
The connection over the Rudolf-Diesel-Strasse ensures internal pedestrians and cars to pass and also serves to convey various factory lines. In addition, it represents a new eye-catcher over the busy road, underlining the important entrance to Sindelfingen.
schlaich bergermann partner has been commissioned with the general planning of the entire project. We are very happy of having completed this next milestone. Now the further extensions as well as the construction of the ramps and the design of the outdoor facilities will follow. The bridge is supposed to be inaugurated at the beginning of 2020.
