Deutzer Hafen Cologne bridge competition: runner-up

schlaich bergermann partner’s proposal was joint runner-up in an international design competition for two bridges over the Deutzer Hafen in Cologne. Arranging all structure below deck frees views along the harbour and toward Cologne cathedral. The vividness of the shared silhouette creates a strong bond between the bridges while being very sensitive to the listed industrial remnants present at the site.
