Last week saw the completion of the footbridge “Piussteg” in Ingolstadt, Germany. After the acceptance inspection was performed, the 150-meter-long bridge will now serve as the main entryway to the site of the upcoming Bavarian State Garden Show.
schlaich bergermann partner designed the slender, semi-integral pedestrian bridge featuring Y-shaped columns. Moreover, we developed the lighting concept for the bridge, providing for an appealing, color-coordinated illumination of the striking column structure.
It will still take a little while before visitors can not only see the bridge in passing but use it. Due to the current situation, the opening of the Bavarian State Garden Show has been postponed to April 2021.
