Construction work starts for the airport extension in Nice

Already in January of this year, preparatory work began at the airport in Nice for the construction site of the upcoming extension. The project comprises two large-scale buildings: a check-in hall as well as a building for pre-boarding lounges with new departure and arrival areas. Our office in Paris, in collaboration with the architect STEPHANE AUREL ARCHITECTURE, is responsible for the steel structure and the timber construction as well as the facade.

By now, prototypes of the facade and the timber roof have been manufactured and installed on site.

The work on the foundation and skeleton structure will begin in the next weeks, so that the assembly of the steel structure can start as early as this fall. Overall, the extension is scheduled to be completed and open to airline passengers in 2025.
