Construction site update from Erfurt

Last weekend was the day. Two mobile cranes successfully lifted the last bridge segments of the ‘Promenadendeck’ Erfurt into its final positions. For this purpose, the Stauffenbergallee running under the bridge was closed to traffic over the weekend. The welding of the individual segments will follow in the coming weeks, after the large segment above the flood ditch has been lowered and the anchor points have been embedded in concrete.

Once completed, the ‘Promenadendeck’ will be considered Erfurt’s largest pedestrian and bicycle bridge. The accessible bridge provides an important link between the central station and ICE City, while its seats invite visitors to linger a while.

The completion of the bridge is planned for the end of the year.
