Jörg Schlaich founded our office in Stuttgart together with Rudolf Bergermann in 1980 and led it until the end of 2002. For many years afterwards, he continued to be an important and highly valued source of ideas and advice to all of us. On September 4, 2021, Jörg Schlaich passed away in Berlin surrounded by his family.
Today, Jörg Schlaich would have turned 89 years old. Not only did he set standards in the structural design of load-bearing structures, but was also committed to alternative technologies in the energy sector and shaped generations of civil engineers through his teaching.
