Occupying the entire perimeter of the Spanish capital, it is set to serve as a “green lung” for the city with hundreds of thousands of newly planted trees, parks, open spaces, trails and green bridges.
For the competition, the massive project was divided into five parts. The winning proposal for part 1, “Entre montes naturales” (Between natural mountains) is called “Tiempo de Silencio”. It covers the northwestern part of the green belt, connecting the Pardo, Valdelatas and Casa de Campo mountains.
