Hemei Bridge in Xiamen, China and TRUMPF Footbridge in Ditzingen, Germany were both awarded with the Silver Award at the “World Footbridge Award 2021”. The awards ceremony took place during the World Transport Convention (WTC 2021) from June 16th to 18th 2021 in Xi’An, China.
A total of 29 projects from China, Germany, Australia and other countries had entered for the award. One Gold Award, two Silver Awards and four Bronze Awards were finally selected by the jury. We are thrilled about the recognition for the Hemei Bridge (schlaich bergermann partner, Dissing + Weitling, XMEDI and for our TRUMPF Footbridge (schlaich bergermann partner).

The “World Footbridge Award” was established by China Highway & Transportation Society in 2019 and takes place every two years. It mainly recognizes companies and individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the engineering, design and building of outstanding footbridges in the world. Its purpose is to promote the innovation and development of footbridge construction and to encourage the research and progress of new bridge technology in the world.
