Semi-integral viaducts as part of the new highway link A11 near Bruges

Part of the new highway link A11 near Bruges in Belgium are four semi-integral prestressed concrete viaducts, which trace back to a special proposal drafted by schlaich bergermann partner on behalf of Jan De Nul. The semi-integral approach combined with the use of high-strength concrete creates a particularly robust and at the same time efficient structure. Its design was planned in detail by schlaich bergermann partner. The sleek shape of the superstructure and columns saves resources and maximizes visibility in the flat landscape.
