Footbridge Trumpf shortlisted

We are excited to hear that our 20 mm thin stainless steel shell bridge, the Trumpf Steg in Ditzingen, has been shortlisted for the Ulrich Finsterwalder Ingenieurbaupreis 2019. Every two years, the Structural Engineering Prize is awarded to recognize special engineering achievements. Out of 25 submissions, a total of five projects were shortlisted:

  • Rethebrücke, Hamburg – Ingenieurbüro Grassl
  • Trumpf Steg, Ditzingen – schlaich bergermann partner
  • Taminabrücke, Kanton St. Gallen, Schweiz – Leonhardt, Andrä und Partner
  • Schutzdach für die Ausgrabungsstätte am Göbekli Tepe (Türkei) – EiSat
  • Kienlesbergbrücke, Ulm – KREBS+KIEFER Ingenieure

Despite this year’s strong focus on bridges, the selection offers a broad spectrum of engineering solutions. The winner of the Ulrich Finsterwalder Ingenieurbaupreis will be announced in February of next year. The award ceremony will take place on February 12th at Deutsche Museum in Munich. We are curious which project will ultimately convince the jury and we keep our fingers crossed for our team.
