We are very proud that our Tram bridge crossing highway A8 has won the German Civil Engineering Award 2022 (Deutscher Ingenieurbaupreis 2022)! The jury selected the integral supported network arch bridge as winning project in July 2022.
According to the jury members, “the network arch bridge with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer cables with carbon hangers, as innovation, is an outstanding example of engineering design and answers current questions in civil engineering.”
schlaich bergermann partner was in charge of the entire planning – from design to technical spots check – of the arch bridge. As far as we know, it is the first commercial application of carbon cables used for a network arch bridge.
As a state award, the Deutscher Ingenieurbaupreis is one of the most important awards for civil engineers in Germany and has been presented for the fourth time. The award ceremony will take place on November 28 this year.
