Andreas Keil has been a partner with schlaich bergermann partner since 1994. He has over 30 years of experience conceiving, analyzing, designing and constructing bridges. His expertise includes solutions for structural steel, cast steel, concrete, carbon, glass, and other materials, using various structural systems including cable-stayed, suspension, stress ribbon, arch or beam.
Andreas Keil has overseen dozens of bridge and building projects which exhibit playful characteristics that allow the flow of forces to be expressed in both rational, unexpected and striking ways. He has become an expert in cable systems through the design of cable supported bridges, membrane roofs, and atria. This includes specific knowledge in the dynamic characteristics of these lightweight structures and the effects of curvature, damping and aerodynamics.
Throughout his career, Andreas Keil has worked to create elegant structures that enhance the built environment and minimize material waste. Constructability and maintenance are always given serious consideration during the conceptualization stages of his projects.
