The GGEL Solar Plant is a 50 MW solar thermal powerplant on base of the EuroTrough design. The collector field consists of 120 Loops respectively 5,760 single trough collector elements. One solar collector assembly (SCA) consists of 12 solar collector elements which are 12 m long each. The design was adapted to higher local wind loads.
schlaich bergermann und partner provided the EuroTrough technology on a licensing basis and actively assisted the technology transfer and the installation of the assembly line.
