The new sports and leisure swimming hall “blu” at the foot of the Brauhausberg in Potsdam include a pool complex with a 50 metre pool, a recreational and a splash pool, as well as a generous sauna world. A basement, including an underground car park complements the three upper floors. The basement features varying heights and carves partially deep into the existing topography. With its regular grid the solid reinforced concrete frame construction is consistently aligned to the architectural scheme. Due to a large proportion of pre-fabricated components, the ultra-flexible supporting structure facilitates cost-effective and fast manufacturing.
