The new campus of the Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University comprises six faculty buildings which are arranged around a central landscaped courtyard.
The most striking design feature is the east facade of the International Business School. The building looks inwards facing the lake with the waved canopy which was also designed and completed by sbp and BDP in 2016.
The double facade is based on a mullion-transom structure and an outer hanging facade with cantilevering corrugated glass louvres which allow optimum use of natural lighting while minimising solar gain.
